Recently, the stream of leaks regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series has increased. This is not surprising – the announcement is just around the corner. Insiders managed to merge the characteristics of the base and top-end versions of the line, which caused a lot of controversy in the network. One of the discussions and exciting topics for the company’s fans is the Galaxy Note 20 display.
Tech insiders say that in the case of the basic version of the series, the company chose the usual 60 Hz. And it will be a flat panel. Another detail is that the vase version of the flagship will arrive with a price tag of around $900 and the smartphone will have a plastic back cover. Obviously, the savings are dictated by the desire to lower the price tag.
But not everyone shares and understands this approach of the company. Especially in the part of the display. Many cannot understand why the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (Galaxy S20 Lite) with a price tag of around $ 700-750 will offer a 120 Hz panel, while the flagship of the new generation will be content with only 60 Hz?
Ross Young, head of research firm DSCC, tried to explain the differences in the displays of the two smartphones. So, according to him, the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will receive a rigid OLED panel, which is inexpensive, thicker and heavier than flexible OLED panels.
In other words, this is an inexpensive display of the previous generation, the installation of which allowed to reduce the price tag. Whereas the Galaxy S20 will offer a flexible OLED panel that surpasses its rigid counterpart in a number of ways. And it costs more.
Samsung is gearing up to launch new Galaxy devices on August 5. However, nothing could prevent the Galaxy Note 20 series from leaking before that date. If you enjoyed our full walkthrough Galaxy Note 20 Ultra leaked specifications, then, you’ll be glad to know that the Note 20 also leaked.
GALAXY NOTE 20 SPECS
Samsung will position this device as a much more affordable device. But don’t hold your breath, we don’t think it will be affordable enough to dethrone flagship killers. The handset still has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under its display and the Exynos 990 SoC.
This chipset is the very same giving power to the S20 family in Europe. The handset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. Yeah, that’s right. The affordable Note 20 will ditch the microSD card slot.
This surely will generate a huge backlash from customers. With the release of Galaxy S6 and Note 5, Samsung removed the microSD card slot and that move was greatly criticized by the company fans. The company decided to bring it back with the Galaxy S7 series and subsequent Note devices. Now, the company seems to be playing with the idea once again. We know that just a few companies are offering microSD card expansion. Samsung is just joining the trend, once again.
The handset also lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, but that’s not a surprise. The smartphone boasts a triple camera array in the rear. We have a main rear camera with 12MP with a huge 1.8um pixel size and dual-pixel autofocus. There is an ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and 1.4um pixels. Interestingly, the third sensor is a 64MP 3x zoom cam, with f/2.0 aperture and 1um pixels. The phone will offer 30x hybrid zoom and support for 8K video recording. Moving to the middle-aligned punch hole we have a 10MP selfie snapper with dual-pixel auto-focus, f/2.2 aperture, and 1.22um pixels.
