If you ever accidentally pack up your computer by hitting the facility button, there’s a simple thanks to disable the facility button (or make it do something different) in Windows 10. you’ll control your Sleep button, too, if your computer has one among those. Here’s how.

Changing the way your computer’s power button works in Windows 10 requires a visit to regulate Panel. First, launch instrument panel by opening the beginning menu and typing “control,” then hit Enter or click the instrument panel icon.

Open Start menu, type "control," then select the "Control Panel" icon.

In Control Panel, click “Hardware and Sound.”
Locate the “Power Options” section and click on “Change what the facility buttons do.”
Next, you’ll see a screen that defines what happens once you push power or sleep buttons on your machine. Under “Power and Sleep Button Settings,” click the menu beside “When I Press the facility Button.”
In the “When I Press the facility Button” menu, you’ll see several choices. Here’s what all the choices do:

Do Nothing: once you push the facility button, nothing happens.
Sleep: Your PC goes into a low-power sleep mode but stays running.
Hibernate: Your PC saves the state of your system memory on disk and shuts down. Your session are often resumed later once you power copy .

In Hardware and Sound, click "Change what the power buttons do."
Shut Down: This shuts down Windows and powers off your PC. (This is that the default.)
Turn off the Display: Your display turns off, but your PC keeps running.
To avoid losing your work if you hit the facility button, choose any option aside from “Shut Down.” this may prevent accidental shutdowns. If you would like no interruptions whatsoever as a results of hitting the facility button, choose “Do Nothing.”
In the drop down menu, choose any option other than "Shut Down."
Click “Save Changes” and shut instrument panel .

The next time you press your PC’s power button, it won’t automatically pack up . If you chose “Do Nothing” within the last step, you’ll still pack up your PC when necessary by choosing “Shut Down” from the beginning menu. Hope you’ve got a productive day!
