SMARTINFORMATION TOWARDS PREVENTING UNETHICAL ACCESS TO WHATSAPP ACCOUNTS (HACKERS)

With the increase in rate at which people lose their WhatsApp accounts to unethical hackers, it has become expedient that we keep ourselves informed in order to be empowered against this malicious act.

These hackers use your number to register WhatsApp without prior consent. Thereafter, they’d either call or message feeding you with adulterated and spurious stories in a bid to request for the verification code that was sent to your phone.

Some of their motives include the following:

-To exploit people on your list and feed them with fake news.

-To act on your integrity.

-To change your phone number to theirs and replace you in whatsoever group and platform you belong.

In order to be safe from them:

-Don’t share your WhatsApp verification code with anyone.

-Create a two-step verification pin. Follow the steps below to create yours:

1. Go to settings on your WhatsApp.

2. Click on Account

3. Click on Two-step verification

4. Enter pin,

5. Input your email address

6. And save

Your WhatsApp account cannot be hacked without your consent as everything attached to it is exclusively yours. Be SMART not to divulge any private information to anyone for whatsoever reason.
