HTC Packs Its Vive Pro 2 VR Headset With 5K 120Hz Performance
HTC has just introduced its next-generation Vive Pro 2 virtual reality headset, giving the device a few welcome upgrades for dedicated VR fans.
While the new release retains much of the aesthetics and design of its predecessor, the Taiwanese tech company has elevated its performance with a range of technical improvements. Its new Dual RGB low persistence LCD now offers 5K resolutions, with 2.5K each eye, and can support up to 120Hz refresh rates for exceptionally smooth gameplay. The field of view has been increased to 120 degrees to allow for a wider perspective and more immersion, which is further complemented by Hi-Res certified headphones offering 3D spatial sound integration.
For those interested, HTC will be offering its Vive Pro 2 as both a standalone unit or a package including a Base Station and Vive controllers. Prices start at $800 USD, and you can learn more about it over on the company’s website.
