If Your are Receiving Bank Alerts on Your Mobile Number, Please Read This for Security Reasons
If you have a bank account at any Nigeria bank and you are receiving credit and debit alert through your mobile phone number, you need to read this security Message and stop any form of things that can cause Fraudster to defraud you.
There are two ways you can be receiving credit and debit alert in your bank, is either through email or your mobile number, you can decide to be receiving it through email and mobile phone for fast confirmation, but email is more secure than receiving it through mobile phone.
1. You must not lose your mobile phone you are using to receive an alert, The USSD technology has made it easy for Fraudsters to withdraw money from your bank account through your mobile number if you lost your phone, kindly contact your network provider or bank for security purposes.
2. Don’t try to put the mobile number you are using to receive bank alert on any social media like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
3. Don’t comment on bank page on social media and put your phone number there for bank resolution issues. Fraudsters take Phone Number of banks customers on their social pages
Recommendation: if you lost the mobile number you are using to receive bank alerts, kindly call your network provider to block your sim card immediately before Fraudsters start using USSD to withdraw money from your bank account. OR you can call your bank immediately to block your bank account.
Never put your mobile number on social media.
