Not a long ago, POCO announced that it sold more than 1 million units of the entry-level POCO C3 smartphone in India. Now, it’s the turn for another budget smartphone to announce this milestone the POCO M2. For those unaware, the POCO M2 was launched in the second half of 2020 in India. It basically was a rebranded Redmi 9 with some design changes. It has the same dual-tone design saw in the POCO M2 Pro, a Redmi Note 9 Pro clone. This is an impressive milestone for the low-end handset especially due to the fact that it can only be purchased via Flipkart.

POCO M2 specifications
For those unaware, the POCO M3 flaunts a 6.5-inch LCD with FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. Under the hood, the phone brings the Helio G80 gaming chipset. It was released in India at an INR 10,999 price tag. This is roughly $160. The device already got a price cut this month allowing customers to pay only INR 9,999 for the variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage. It does come with a microSD card slot, so you can easily expand this amount.
One of the POCO M2 main selling points is its 5,000mAh battery. However, it also packs a Quad-Camera setup with a 13MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide, and two 2MP sensors for macro and depth sensing. Interestingly, Country Director Anuj Kumar stated that POCO has evolved to become a brand that can cater to customers at multiple price points.
For a brand known for bringing flagship killers, POCO now has devices in multiple price segments. It currently sits as India’s third-largest smartphone brand. The next big thing coming to the country is the POCO M3. This is an original device with a distinct design and solid specs like a 6,000mAh battery. We’re pretty sure it will another device to easily cross the 1 million sales.
