Rotarian Kennedy Frimpong of the Rotary Club of Kumasi East has encouraged teachers to also encourage their students to pick professions in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) to acquire worthwhile positions in the future.
He said ICT and Mathematics “rule” the world, saying students who gear their learning in that pathway and seek ICT-related courses had huge opportunities in the worldwide work market.
Rotarian Frimpong, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the F. Kennedy Group of Companies, vendors in hardware and consumables offered this guidance when he gave teaching and learning materials to two essential schools in the Tano North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.
The materials included ICT and Mathematic course books, comprehension books, and some numerical sets for the Yamfo Methodist ‘A’ and ‘B’ group of schools and the Ahyiayem M/A basic school.
Rotarian Frimpong also gave five PCs and accessories to the Methodist schools to improve the teaching and learning of ICT.
Talking at a different function held at Yamfo and Ahyiayem, Rotarian Frimpong, a previous student of the school encouraged the students not to permit anything to beat them down, but rather read generally and consistently focus on their books.
He said technology had made learning more straightforward and beseeches the instructors to constantly direct the students to involve the PCs for scholarly purposes.
While recognizing the instructors for their benevolent and committed administrations to the country, Rotarian Frimpong beseeched them to try harder to assist with working on the performance of the students.
Mr. Joel Afrifa, the Headmaster of the Yamfo Methodist “B’ expressed gratitude for the kind gesture and made an appeal for extra tables and chairs, furniture, and PCs.
At the Ahyiayem M/A fundamental school, Mr. David Nsiah-Sarfo, the headteacher said the school required latrines, consumable drinking water, and study hall blocks.
He said the six-unit block of the school, built-in 1998, had not seen any restoration, saying the state of the block was very terrible and could implode at any point whenever.
Mr. Nsiah-Sarfo also pursued for teachers’ quarters, latrines, and urinals demonstrating that the main latrine in the school was a wooden design that was in a woeful condition.
Rotarian Frimpong vowed to give five PCs to the school.
