Samsung 65W Charger spotted in the wild

In the last two years, we saw a huge advancement in the development of fast-charging technologies for smartphones. More than that, advanced chargers with high charging output are finally reaching devices in the affordable spectrum. This is mostly thanks to Chinese companies that are constantly pushing newer and faster-charging technologies. Other mainstream companies have been lagging behind such as Samsung. However, for the South-Korean market, this seems to be changing in 2021. The company certified a Samsung 65W charger (EP-TA865) on Korean authorities in September 2020. Today, the USB-C charger was spotted in the wild. It offers USB Power Delivery at up to 20V and 2.35A and comes with Programmable Power Supply (PPS).

The leaked photo surfaces right before the release of the Galaxy S21 series. However, we can’t hold our breath for this charging tech in the new smartphones. Apparently, it’s too overpowered for the new flagships. According to reports, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will have the highest charging capabilities and will come with support for 45W charging thanks to the EP-TA845 adapter. So, what is the purpose of the new advanced charging adapter? Apparently, the Samsung 65W charger is coming for Samsung laptops that can be charged through a USB-C port.

The Galaxy S21 series will not be ambitious with fast-charging tech

As aforementioned, the Galaxy S21 series may not mark the company’s entrance in the range of fast-charging smartphones. The vanilla and Plus models are set to come with just 25W of maximum charging. This is way below what some mid-range phones and premium mid-range devices are offering right now. At least 33W fast-charging would be more acceptable for a flagship that will cost a lot. Moreover, Samsung will not provide charging adapters for those smartphones.

When Apple unveiled its iPhone 12 series without a charging brick, Samsung promptly mocked the company with the fact that Galaxy phones come with charging adapters. Well, now the company will just follow Apple in the new strategy. The Korean firm even deleted the post on Facebook to hide the shreds of evidence of its past.

As per the Galaxy Note21 series, there is a high chance that the upcoming Galaxy Note21 Ultra will come with a 65W fast-charging. Of course, you will also need to buy the charger (probably the one in this article) separately. GSMAren’s report states that there still is a small chance for the Galaxy S21 Ultra to come with 65W fast-charging. Of course, we will not need to wait much longer as the new flagships will make their debut on January 14.
