Highlights

  • Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is tipped for January 2021 launch.
  • The Galaxy S21 Ultra could get two telephoto lenses.
  • The phone is tipped to get a 6.9-inch display.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 is expected to be the company’s next flagship, one that is widely rumoured to be set for launch sometime in January next year. As we get closer to its launch, key details of the Galaxy S21 series of devices are already leaked on the web.

The latest leak about the phone involves information about the S21 Ultra phone whose camera specifications have leaked now. In a recent tweet, prolific tipster, Ice Universe has revealed that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will come with two telephoto cameras, and has claimed that this would be “the strongest optical zoom system known” on a mainstream phone to date.

He in his tweet has also revealed the specifications of the two lenses, claiming that one of them will get a 3X 1/2.8″ 10-megapixel 1.22m dual-pixel phase-detection autofocus lens, while the other would be a 10X 1/2.8″ 10-megapixel 1.22m dual-pixel phase-detection autofocus lens.

On paper, this configuration looks quite possible and looks increasingly believable as previous leaks have also said the main camera assembly of the Galaxy S21 will feature two telephoto lenses.

Apart from this, previous reports have also revealed other details about the design, with the Galaxy S21 Ultra said to come with 1440p resolution and fast 120Hz refresh rate together. This will be because of a new LTPO panel found on the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Leaks have also revealed some other key details about the device, including the fact that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will use an updated 108-megapixel HM3 sensor, which according to reports will capture 12 per cent more light than before. However, there will be no 3D Time of Flight sensor on the device to supplement the 108-megapixel main camera. Instead, the phone is tipped to use laser-assisted autofocus. It is also suggested that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will support 45W charging and have virtually no bezels to complete a clean look.

Previously, we’ve also seen other information about the device leak online. Reports in the past have said the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s screen will be between 6.7 and 6.9-inches and the phone will measure roughly 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9mm.

The phone is expected to be launched in three models, including a top-end S21 Ultra featuring support for an S Pen and new camera capabilities.
