As it turned out, MIUI 12.5 will be presented tomorrow evening, during the event Xiaomi will also present Mi 11 and its new flagship router with Wi-Fi 6E support. Interestingly, Mi 11 will not be the first smartphone with MIUI 12.5 – this model runs MIUI 12 based on the stable version of Android 11. But during the announcement, Xiaomi will not only reveal all the features of the new firmware (first of all, changes are expected in terms of design), but will also publish a list of models that will receive it. They will also tell us about the release dates for MIUI 12.5 for specific devices.

So, the open beta testing of MIUI 12.5 will start in early January, while the developers will quickly collect user feedback and release weekly firmware updates with fixes and new features. As for the stable global version of the firmware, it should be released only in March next year.
According to Jin Fan, MIUI 12.5 is a complete new version of the user interface. He added that MIUI development team has recently undergone a reorganization and is significantly stronger.
Despite the release of MIUI 12.5, the company also plans to release MIUI 13 user interface next year; which will in particular support smartphones with folding screens.
Xiaomi MIUI 13 is coming soon but not before MIUI 12.5
Xiaomi has been quite consistent with its desire to release the latest update for its devices. As of now, many eligible Xiaomi devices already have the MIUI 12 update. In fact, many of its smartphones are currently getting the MIUI 12 on top of Android 11 update. According to a recent report, before MIUI 13 officially arrives next year, MIUI will have a major version update. The Xiaomi community yesterday released the MIUI development version internal beta update instructions – 12.8.
According to the company, there will be a final MIUI 12.5 version before the arrival of MIUI 13. The company asks Xiaomi fans to always believe that something beautiful is about to happen. However, there will be a suspension of this update for a couple of models. Reports claim that due to project engineering needs, Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro, Redmi K30 Extreme Commemorative Edition will be postponed until December 18th.
